The theme song to HWYW was created by Ted "Teddy" Leo and has been the shows theme since Episode 1. It is Golden Girls / punk-rock inspired and features a strong drum beat and electric guitar. The lyrics include:

"Catching up on television, should be catching up on sleep,

I hate that song, my boss is weird, the cat's in heat, I'm starting to freak,

But listen to me goin' on, I haven't even let you speak,

How was your week?"
